Hi there all, I’m a mid 50’s wannabe world traveller and I’ve started this blog so I can record my travels and keep in touch with family and friends when I’m away and just maybe grow a successful blog while I’m at it.
Maybe as time goes on and I get used to sharing I’ll be able to add more to this page but right now it is totally foreign for me to be broadcasting things about myself, so short and sweet it is!
Okay it’s almost two weeks since I wrote those first couple of sentences, I’ve published seven posts since then and I think if I want other people to read my blog then I should try to share more about myself – here goes trying to put some of me into words.
I’ve been many things to many people in my life, daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, employer, employee ……… the list goes on. I’ve had lots of love and some heartache along the way. I’ve had lots of hard work and lots of fun too. I’ve been healthy and had health problems. I’ve been poor at times and also been comfortable. I have up days and down days but some-one or something always convinces me there’s something to look forward to.
I can’t complain about my life, but I am going to change a few things and part of the change is heading off to spend at least six months next year travelling around Europe.
Maybe it’s just a typical mid-life crisis – even though it’s a tad later than mid-life.
Maybe it’s because I had a brief taste earlier this year when I had a month in Italy and two weeks on the Greek Isles.
Whatever the reason for the decision – I’ve made it and now I just have to do what I need to make it happen – and I can’t wait!!!
February 2014 – well, my six months travelling around Europe has been and gone, aaaand I managed to extend it to 7 whole months! I wasn’t very good at keeping up to date with the blog (too busy taking it all in), so I’m still writing posts as I can and looking for a new job to fund more travelling!!

After we met in Barcelona we visited Marseille and Valetta. We especially recommend Valetta to visit. It’s very unique, has lots to offer and the A$ stretches much further than on the continent.

Oh darn, I’d already made plans when I got this, made my way to Marseille via Montpellier to fly to Zadar in Croatia tomorrow morning. Will have to put Valetta on the list for next time. Thanks Margie, I’m in the deep south of Italy now, at Ostuni. I’ve been avidly following your latest travels over here, Sicily is my next destination after Lecce and Matera. As you can see, the blog is quite a way behind, but I figure, I’ll catch up one day….
